Closed cooling towers are playing an increasingly important role in industrial production processes. Not only because of its excellent cooling effect but more importantly, it can help users save costs.
The internal circulation system of a closed cooling tower
Circulating water (or other medium that needs to be cooled) circulates in a closed coil, completely isolating air, without evaporation or consumption. Compared to open cooling towers, this process can save a lot of water resources. (The circulating water in the open cooling tower comes into direct contact with the air, resulting in high evaporation and consumption)
The external circulation system of the closed cooling tower
The spray pump of the closed cooling tower draws water from the water collection tank and sends it to the upper part of the heat exchange coil. Through the nozzle, it evenly sprays on the surface of the coil, exchanges heat with the pipe wall, and carries the heat out of the tower through a fan. The unexpired water droplets pass through the dehydrator and return to the collection tank for reuse.
So, the closed cooling tower can reuse spray water and has a high water-saving rate.
Furthermore, a closed cooling tower is a closed working environment with a very low water drift rate.
The operating mode of the closed cooling tower
There are two operating modes for closed cooling towers, namely air-cooled mode and air-cooled+spray mode. These two modes will adjust themselves based on the outlet temperature, operating conditions, season, and whether the local water resources are sufficient.
When the outlet temperature requirement is low, turn on the air cooling+spray mode to achieve rapid cooling.
When the outlet temperature is required to be high, only the air cooling mode can be turned on to achieve the purpose of cooling. In this stage, without activating the sprinkler system, a lot of water resources can be saved.
Also, in spring and summer, due to the high ambient temperature, it is necessary to turn on the air cooling+spray mode. In the autumn and winter seasons, due to the low ambient temperature, sometimes only the air cooling mode needs to be turned on. The advantages of closed cooling towers are even more evident in the arid and water-scarce areas.
