Drift eliminator:
A drift eliminator ( water collector) is a device used in closed cooling tower to collect floating water. It is usually set at the upper part of the cooling tower, below the induced draft fan. The fan moves quickly to drive the air in the cooling tower to flow. The water in the air sits down and flows upward under the fan's drive. After evaporation, the cooling tower is mixed in the air. When passing through the drift eliminator, the water is attached to the drift eliminator and gradually accumulates. When the gravity of the formed water drops is greater than the adhesion, it will fall into the pool or be attached to the condensing coil again for evaporation.
The drift eliminator can effectively reduce the water flow rate of the cooling tower and play a water-saving role. The drift eliminator is usually made of plastic materials. It is supported by nail screws at both ends and superimposed by multiple layers of plastic or glass fiber-reinforced plastic drift eliminator blades. The water-collecting efficiency of the drift eliminator is very high and will not reduce the air flow in the cooling tower. When the hot and humid air in the tower passes through the drift eliminator, it can block 75% - 90% of the water, so that the air escape rate can be reduced to less than 0.001%. The use of drift eliminator has passed effective experiments on condenser equipment in large chemical industries, metallurgy industry, and casting industry, and achieved good results in water saving. Compared with the open cooling tower, the closed cooling tower has effectively improved the water-saving efficiency to a certain extent due to the fully closed design, and the design of the drift eliminator is to further improve the water-saving effect of the closed cooling tower.

The role of fill packing in the cooling tower is to increase heat dissipation, extend the residence time of cooling water, increase the heat exchange area, increase the heat exchange efficiency, and distribute water evenly. A cooling tower is a kind of equipment that cools hot fluid (including water) to a reasonable temperature.
